Saffron Rice

Saffron Rice

A simple side dish that will become a family favorite!
Servings 4 servings


  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup onion diced
  • 1 cup uncooked long grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 tsp Mariposa Farms Fresh Italian Flat Parsley chopped
  • 1/4 tsp Mariposa Farms Saffron threads


  • Melt butter over medium heat in a saucepan. Add onion. Cook until the onion is translucent. Reduce heat and cook until onion is dark brown in color and very tender.
  • Add rice and stir well. Stir in water, parsley and saffron. Cover and simmer until water is absorbed. Approximately 30 minutes.
