Sausage Balls - Creole Style

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground pork sausage mild or hot
  • 2 1/4 cup biscuit mix
  • 2 tbsp Mariposa Farms Fresh Chives chopped
  • 2 tsp creole seasoning
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2-3 tbsp mustard of your choice (we suggest creole mustard if available)
  • 2 tbsp onion minced
  • 2 tbsp celery finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • Mix together biscuit mix, chives and creole seasoning.
  • Add in sausage, onion, celery, mustard and buttermilk. Mix well. This may take a bit if work, but it will eventually all work in. Once this is mixed well, add cheese and mix again.
  • Roll into one inch balls and place about an inch apart on cookie sheets. Bake for 23 minutes or until golden.
