Ingredients

Parmesan Herb Bread

  • 1 1/4 cup warm beer I used Newcastle Brown Ale
  • 2 tbsp butter softened
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups unbleached flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3 cloves garlic peeled and finely minced
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Mariposa Farms Fresh Basil rinsed and finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp Mariposa Farms Fresh Rosemary rinsed and finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp Mariposa Farms Fresh Thyme rinsed and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 pkg instant yeast

Parmesan Herb Butter

  • 2 tbsp butter softened
  • 1 tsp Mariposa Farms Fresh Basil rinsed and finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Mariposa Farms Fresh Thyme rinsed and finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Mariposa Farms Fresh Rosemary rinsed and finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese freshly grated

Instructions

  • This recipe is set to mix in the bread machine and bake in the regular oven.
  • Place the beer, butter, sugar, salt, and cayenne pepper into the pan of the bread machine. Put the flour onto the other ingredients, and sprinkle the flour with the garlic, herbs, Parmesan, and yeast.
  • Set the bread machine to the dough cycle; turn on the machine.
  • Blend all the ingredients for the herb butter. Grease a 9" x 5" bread pan.
  • When the dough cycle is completed, remove the dough from the machine, punch down if necessary, form into a loaf, and place into the prepared bread pan with the seam side down. Brush with the herb butter.
  • Cover with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled in bulk, about 45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Place the pan on the center rack of the oven and bake 40-45 minutes, or until browned and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from pan and cool completely before slicing.
