Servings 1 loaf

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp dry active yeast
  • 1/4 cup avocado oil
  • 4 tbsp Mariposa Farms Fresh Basil rinsed and roughly chopped
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tsp Mrs Dash table blend

Instructions

  • Using either a large bowl or a stand mixer, pour the lukewarm water in the bowl, sprinkle the sugar and the yeast over the water. Leave it sit until the yeast is activated (foamy), should be 5-10 minutes.
  • Stir in the avocado oil, freshly chopped herbs, salt and pepper. Gradually add the bread flour, mixing until the dough comes together.
  • If using the stand mixer, use the dough hook and knead on low for 7-10 minutes, or until elastic. If not using a mixer, turn out onto a lightly floured working surface and knead until elastic, about 7-10 minutes.
  • Cover the dough with either plastic or a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm area until double in size, usually between an hour to an hour and a half. Punch down the dough and turn out onto the lightly floured working surface.
  • Work the dough into a circular or football shaped loaf, place on a pan lined with parchment paper. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place again for 45 minutes or until double in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Brush the top of the loaf with avocado oil and sprinkle with Mrs Dash Table Blend and chopped herbs. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until its a light golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Remove from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack. Allow to cool for a while before you slice and serve.
