Chocolate Chipolte Bacon Pie

You can also make this in a regular pie crust if desired.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups pretzels crushed (or graham crackers)
  • 2/3 cup sugar divided
  • 1 stick butter divided
  • 1 pkg Keebler Dark Chocolate Fudge Striped Cookies crushed
  • 12 oz bacon cooked and diced (reserve 1/4 cup)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 tsp Mariposa Farms Dried Chipolte Peppers crushed flakes
  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl combine crushed pretzels, 1/3 cup melted butter and 1/3 cup sugar. Blend thoroughly. Press the pretzel mixture into a pie plate and bake for 5 minutes.
  • Using the same bowl, add the crushed cookies, add the rest of the melted butter, the bacon (less 1/4 cup), eggs, the rest of the sugar, the chipolte peppers, lemon juice and flour and mix thoroughly.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into the pie crust. Top with the rest of the bacon and the chocolate chips. Pour a can of sweetened condensed milk over the top of the pie and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges of the pie start to turn a golden brown.
