Chop lavender into medium sized pieces. Let set out on a paper towel for at least 2 hours to reduce moisture content.
In a double boiler add your lavender (or herb of your choice). Add your oil. Oil will be clumpy at first. Over low heat, melt oil and stir.
Coconut oil has a very low melting point, be careful not to overheat. Oil should never get too hot to touch.
Let this mixture warm for 8-10 hours.
Strain through cheesecloth and let cool. Oil is now ready for use. Store in an airtight container. You may warm the oil slightly before using if desired.
