Ingredients

  1. Thinly slice cucumbers.
  2. Layer them into a colander placing salt between each layer.
  3. Place the colander over a bowl and leave it to drain for 1 hour.
  4. Rinse cucumbers to remove excess salt, pat dry.
  5. Heat the sugar and cider vinegar until the sugar dissolves.
  6. Remove from heat to cool.
  7. Pour cider mixture over the cucumbers, leave to marinate 2 hours.
  8. Drain the cucumbers.
  9. Add dill and cider.
  10. Pepper to taste.
  11. Chill before serving.
